A street photography workshop in Istanbul, private or small group, for photographers who want to understand why some frames work and others don't, and how to make more of the ones that do.
The photowalk is about walking and noticing together. The workshop goes a step further. We still move through real neighborhoods, away from the tourist routes, but the day has a teaching thread running through it.
How I share the street
Throughout the day, I share how I see. When I spot a scene worth photographing (a pocket of light about to catch someone, a doorway framing the street, a reflection lining up), I point it out and explain what I'm noticing. I tell you why I'm waiting in one spot, and what I expect the scene to turn into. Then I hand it over to you.
Along the way I give practical tips: where to stand, when to wait and when to move on, how to adjust your framing or settings for the light in front of you. Small things, said at the right moment, that you can use straight away.
What we work on
• Light and shadow: reading them quickly and placing yourself where they'll matter
• Layering: building a frame with a foreground, a middle and a background that each carry something
• Timing and anticipation: recognizing a moment before it arrives instead of chasing it after
• Working a scene: staying with it, refining the frame, not walking away too early
• People: photographing them naturally, with confidence and respect
• Editing: choosing the frame that holds up, and understanding why
You shoot throughout the day, with feedback as we go. The aim isn't to copy how I see. It's to sharpen how you see.
End-of-day portfolio review
The day ends with a portfolio review of what you shot. We sit down and go through your frames together: which ones hold up and why, which almost worked and what was missing, and what patterns show up in how you see. Looking back at a full day of your own images, with the streets still fresh in mind, is often where everything we practiced finally clicks.
Private or small group
Private sessions are fully shaped around you. In a small group, the learning multiplies: seeing how someone else handled the same corner, during the walk and again in the review, often teaches as much as any explanation.
Beginners who want a solid foundation and experienced photographers who feel stuck or repetitive in their work are equally welcome. A camera is ideal, but a phone works too. What matters is curiosity and patience.

Istanbul-based photographer who treats the street as a living character rather than a backdrop. He works with patience and intuition, letting feeling lead over technique — always after the emotion beneath the surface, never just what the eye can see.
