For him, photography is not merely about capturing a moment; it is about pursuing the visual language created by light, shadow, and space. A participant in Official Fujifilm’s X-Photographer program, Aldırmaz has been photographing Istanbul’s multi-layered streets and cities around the world for years, while also organizing workshops, training sessions, and photo walks for photographers. His “Practice of Seeing” workshops, held across 12 different routes and historic districts in Istanbul, offer participants both a technical and creative journey. In his workshops and projects, Aldırmaz invites participants into a disciplined visual practice process, aiming not only to teach photographic techniques but also to convey how a photographer can develop their own unique visual language. Projects such as “Unmanned,” “Istanbul Perspective,” “Chiaroscuro,” “35mm,” and “Flaneur” showcase his approach to multiplying photography through the act of limitation. Today, he continues to share his experience with those who want to develop photography as a form of expression through his personal work, the international and local workshops he conducts, and his blog, www.fujiwalk.net. Hello, Thank you for your interest in the street photography workshop in Istanbul. This is a practical, walking-based workshop. We focus on shooting, not long lectures. We will explore the streets together and work on distance, light, simplification, and timing. I don’t give deep historical information about Istanbul or detailed architectural explanations. This is not a history tour. It is a photography workshop. We will talk less and shoot more. I will guide you in a clear and simple way during real street situations. The goal is to improve how you see, move, and frame in the street.
